about the series

What are the Genesis Chronicles?

“Everything will be different in high school….”

Says everyone to every student leaving junior high school, ever. However, these well-meaning people are referring to the typical teenage experience and growing up. Not the events Samaya Lewis, Whitney Stone, and Chloe James experience after discovering the Book of Osciron.

5/5
“A very-much-needed splash of color and breath of fresh air in the YA fantasy genre. Book 1 was a fun, witty read that leaves you wanting more, and Samaya's sharp wit and blunt honesty made the journey even more enjoyable. Love that it breaks so many of the usual tropes-- excited to see what Book 2 has in store!"

“This story took a turn I did not see coming. I expected typical coming-of-age fodder, but what I received was something entirely different. True, Ms. Tery gave us Black tomboys in dresses, angst, and a budding romance, but she also delivered a big basket of other goodies I won’t share. Just read the book and get hooked like I did. Can’t wait for the rest.”

“If you’re looking for witchcraft, strange creatures, or a comic book knockoff, this is not the book for you. Sorry. But, if you’re willing to take a chance on something new with diverse characters that are on a personal and magical journey, give it a shot. You won’t be sorry. Samaya’s dry sense of humor and the unexpected conspiracy in the middle make Samaya’s Summer a must-read!”

“I loved this story!!! I hope Ms. Tery continues this series because I NEED MORE! The girls are way different from the norm. Instead of three moody teens she gave us one with anxiety disorder, a junior politician and a bubbly bohemian who must come together to face a magical threat. This story is cool because it isn’t sad. It’s a fun read about three Black girls who aren’t living bad lives. I loved it.”
S. Tyler
